Last month, associate editor Anthony Mariani told Blotch readers about this contest involving Fort Worth Weekly and Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. Artists are encouraged to submit original pieces of unpublished art work to be used for an upcoming beer label.
Now comes this Texas Parks & Wildlife fish art contest for any student in the 4th to 12 grades. Submit a drawing of an officially recognized state fish and a one-page essay on its behavior, habitat, or conservation, and you might win a prize come April. First place winners in each grade-level division will be sent to Minnesota to compete with other state winners for national bragging rights. Cash prizes are also involved.
