The Mimir Chamber Music Festival runs Jun 30-Jul 8 at TCU and the Kimbell Art Museum.

Wed 29 – Leon Bridges’ first concert with his full band was in Shipping & Receiving Bar, so appropriately, the Southside venue hosts the screening of This Is Home, Danny Clinch’s documentary short film about the local musician made good that will be followed by a live acoustic set by Bridges. If that’s not enough, the proceeds go to Texas Council on Family Violence. The screening is at 6pm at 201 S Calhoun St, FW. Tickets are $25. Call 817-343-3693.

Thur 30 – The Wondercrust Movie Club takes on Cyborg 3: The Recycler, a 1994 direct-to-video sequel to a film that starred a then-unknown Angelina Jolie and was itself a bastardization of a Jean-Claude Van Damme action flick. Jolie’s role is taken over by Khyrstyne Haje as a cyborg who discovers herself somehow pregnant. Whatever happened to Khyrstyne Haje, anyway? The movie screens at 9pm at The Grotto, 517 University Dr, FW. Admission is free. Call 817-882-9331.

Fri 1 – My name is Inigo Montoya, and the Modern is holding an outdoor screening of The Princess Bride on its lawn tonight. Picnic baskets are available with a reservation, but if the museum sells out of those, you can buy concessions. Come see Claire Underwood when she was a demure princess named Buttercup. The screening starts at 8:45pm at 3200 Darnell St, FW. Tickets are $8-15. 817-738-9215.

Sat 2 – The winner of this year’s American Association of Community Theater’s New Play Fest was Gracefully Ending, a piece set in West Virginia during the depths of the recent recession, as a troubled single mother and her own mother find themselves trapped in the latter’s house by an impending snowstorm. Because it won, the play will now be put on by Theatre Arlington today thru Jul 17 at 305 W Main St, Arlington. Tickets are $15-20. Call 817-275-7661.

Sun 3 – Most of the July 4th celebrations will take place on July 4th, shockingly enough. However, Arlington is doing theirs a day early for those of you who’d like an extra day to recover from the alcohol and fireworks. Light Up Arlington! takes place at Levitt Pavilion, where the timing of tonight’s event allows you to take advantage of the live music (from Brad Thompson and Hannah Kirby) as well. The festivities start at 6pm at 100 W Abram St, Arlington. Admission is free. Call 817-543-4308.

Mon 4 – Ring in the holiday by cheering for the Fort Worth Vaqueros in a friendly against the under-20 reserves for Santos Laguna, a top-flight Mexican club that has produced such notable players as Jared Borgetti, Chucho Benítez, and Oswaldo Sánchez. The game kicks off at 7:30pm at Martin Field, 599 Collard St, FW. Tickets are $5-10. Call 817-200-7355.

Tues 5 – Written after the death of the composer’s father, Derek Bermel’s Death With Interruptions is inspired by a José Saramago novel that’s set in a world where people mysteriously stop dying and Death herself comes to Earth to find out what’s going wrong. This sardonic piano trio is on the bill at the Mimir Chamber Music Festival’s concert at 7:30pm at TCU, PepsiCo Recital Hall, 2800 S University Dr, FW. Tickets are $30. Call 817-257-7602.
