Fort Worth Museum of Science celebrates its humble beginnings in Hidden Treasures.

Wed 8 – Outdoor movie screenings continue to spread across Tarrant County, and the latest venue to start is Levitt Pavilion. This summer, the Arlington music stage will be holding movies on Wednesday nights, and it starts its series with Inside Out, the beloved Pixar film from last year, at 7:30pm at 100 W Abram St, Arlington. Admission is free. Call 817-543-4301.

Thur 9 – Amphibian Stage Productions is calling it “Women of Comedy,” and while Hyena’s in particular has attempted to strike some sort of gender balance in the standup comics that they book in Fort Worth, the situation could still stand some improvement. Following Emily Maya Mills’ gig here last week, Jackie Kashian takes the stage at 8pm today and Fri at 120 S Main St, FW. Tickets are $20. Call 817-923-3012.

Fri 10 – Jordan E. Cooper’s Masked was such a big hit for DVA Productions three years ago that the troupe has now brought the show back. The play about an African-American actor who looks back with some regrets in the 1960s on the degrading stereotypes that he played in Hollywood in the 1930s (which also made him rich) runs today thru Jun 19 at Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St, FW. Tickets are $20-30. Call 87-313-3052.

Sat 11 – Literary events don’t get to Benbrook so often, so it’s our pleasure to report the Benbrook Library Expo is going on this afternoon. Authors appearing at this event include musician and film historian Michael H. Price and sometime Weekly contributor E.R. Bills. The event runs noon-5pm at Benbrook Public Library, 1065 Mercedes St, Benbrook. Admission is free. Call 817-249-6632.

Sun 12 – For the year that marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, Trinity Shakespeare Festival is putting on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and, less predictably, The Winter’s Tale, a bizarre late work of the Bard’s about sexual jealousy that can be deeply moving when it’s properly staged. The plays run thru Jun 26 at TCU, 2800 S University Dr, FW. Tickets are $15-25. Call 817-257-8080.

Mon 13 – To mark an important anniversary, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is currently hosting Hidden Treasures: Celebrating 75 Years. Photographs taken as far back as 1941 will be out of mothballs for you to see, as well as exhibits that stayed up for decades in the late 20th century. The science may be out of date, but civic pride will be running high. The exhibit runs thru Dec 31 at 1600 Gendy St, FW. Admission is $13-15. Call 817-255-9300.

Tues 14 – After you’ve seen Casa Mañana’s run of Spamalot, you can look back on where it all began when Harkins Southlake screens Monty Python and the Holy Grail tonight as part of their classics series. An election year seems the right time to remind us that you can’t expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you. The movie screens at 7pm at 1450 Plaza Pl, Southlake. Tickets are $5. Call 817-310-0345.
