Eagle-eyed reader, Donald B., caught a mistake in my new cover story Trains Rolled On, and wrote to me about it. While he seems to have enjoyed the story he also wrote this:
“May I offer a correction. I defer to you on the weight of an elephant, but disagree with you that the West Lancaster post office is “empty.” Certainly most of it is, but you may buy stamps, apply for a passport and rent a post office box (Zip code 76101) there. It’s been a few months since I was in that impressive Art Deco lobby, which rivals the T&P station’s, but the USPS Website reports that it is open now. ”
I didn’t realize that and so stand corrected.
I will note that the Post Office is a Beaux Arts building, rather than Art Deco, but then Donald doesn’t have to fact check and I do, and he got me. Sorry, readers.
