While there are a variety of cool ways to celebrate Halloween weekend 2010 in Cowtown, we’re partial to Saturday’s (October 30) Dia De Los Muertos Celebration at the Rose Marine Theater, 1440 N Main St, FW.
The evening begins at 6:30pm as revelers gather in front of All Saints Catholic Church (214 NW 20th St) in Rose Marine Park. A puppet and drum parade down a closed-off North Main Street to the Rose Marine Theater will begin at 7pm. Holiday performances by Ballet Folkorico Azteca, Skin and Bones Drum Cult, and Mariachi Sol de Tejas will commence at 7:30pm on an outdoor stage.
Inside the Rose Marine Theater, there’s a 7pm opening reception for the 2010 Dia De Los Muertos Art Show. Altars, paintings, sculpture, and other media will celebrate the vital ongoing presence of departed friends, family, heroes, spouses, and lovers in our lives.
