The North Central Texas Communities Alliance will be holding their May meeting this Thursday, May 6, at the Trinity Inn Suites at Beach Street and I-30.

The focus of this month’s meeting will be “The Politics and Regulations Related to Gas Drilling and Production,” and in particular to the onerous issue of forced pooling, the practice of sucking gas from beneath someone’s property even if they’ve refused to lease their mineral rights.

Featured speaker will be Jeff Weems, an attorney from Houston who is running as the Democratic candidate for a position with the Railroad Commission, the body that regulates gas and oil drilling in Texas.
