Well, the Barnett Shale is hitting big time television, with CBS-TV’s 60 Minutes planning to run a piece. DISH Mayor Calvin Tillman is on the interview list and Flower Mound Mayor Jody Smith has already been interviewed for it.
We at the weekly are glad that the work we’ve been doing for the past several years on the gas drilling issue has finally caught the attention of the biggest of the big fish in the news industry. And it’s about time. All that heavy lifting we’ve been collectively doing–along with the activists who kept hammering at us with new angles to cover–was starting to put a strain on us. So welcome to the fray, CBS.
PBS was also here a couple of months ago filming for a special. I spent time with both PBS and CBS.
