Health officials say half of all mental health issues start by age 14. About 75 percent start by age 24.
Agencies such as the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County will be participating in a public forum on Monday in Fort Worth.
Topics for discussion include how to recognize warning signs of mental health or substance abuse issues, determine what actions to take, learn about available resources, and work toward recovery.
The Mental Health and Substance Use Community Conversation is 8:30 to 11 a.m. June 9 at The Women’s Center, 1723 Hemphill St.
Registration is free and open to all community members (registration encouraged but not required).
