The reviews have been wildly mixed for Bryan Poyser’s Love & Air Sex, which premiered at last year’s South by Southwest under the much more innocuous title of The Bounceback. Set and filmed in Austin, this comedy is about people trying to repair their relationships against the backdrop of the Air Sex World Championships (a real thing, by the way). The movie screens at 7pm at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St, FW. Tickets are $7-10. Call 817-738-9215.

FRI ▪ 14

Creative types of all stripes will want to hit the Wildcatter Exchange this weekend. The new event will include film screenings, live music, readings of poetry and prose, comic book signings, and appearances by artists profiled in the Weekly, as well as the Weekly’s own Jeff Prince giving a talk on using songwriting techniques in journalism. The festival runs Fri-Sat at multiple locations. Check Calendar for addresses. Admission is free. Call 817-504-1373.

SAT ▪ 15

Dark Circles Contemporary Dance turned heads across North Texas when the company started giving performances here last year. They look to continue that with White Day, a program of dances inspired by the March 14 holiday devoted to romance in Japan and South Korea. The new pieces by Joshua L. Peugh are set to music by Joe Hisaishi (from Miyazaki’s film Howl’s Moving Castle) and jazzman Ryuichi Sakamoto. The performances are Thu-Sat at Sanders Theatre, 1300 Gendy St, FW. Tickets are $12-20. Call 575-993-3584.

SUN ▪ 16

About as subtle as a sledgehammer, D.W. Griffith’s 1920 silent melodrama Way Down East is famous for a scene with lead actors Richard Barthelmess and Lillian Gish walking across ice floes being carried toward a waterfall, which was filmed without stunt performers or any precautions taken to protect the actors if something went wrong. ArthouseFW’s screening, with Paul Slavens and others providing live musical accompaniment, starts at 2pm at the Kimbell Art Museum, 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd, FW. Admission is $5-7. Call 817-924-6000.

MON ▪ 17

While everybody’s drinking green beer today, you can go the other way with Bottle & Bottega’s Uncork Tour, which will hit various locations in Tarrant County this month. The pop-up art and wine studio will teach you to paint while allowing you to sample wine and hors d’oeuvres, and you’ll be able to take home your own 36-square-inch canvas. Tonight’s event is at 6pm at Flip’s Patio Grill, 415 W Hwy 114, Grapevine. Admission is free.

TUE ▪ 18

Distilling complex medical issues into terms that ordinary people can understand is no small task, but it’s one that Sanjay Gupta has done for some years on CNN. This evening, he’ll be at UTA to explain the joys and perils of explaining medicine to the mass media as part of the Maverick Speakers series at 7:30pm at College Park Center, 601 S Pecan St, Arlington. Admission is free-$25. Call 817-272-2011.
