Circle Theatre rounds out its 2013 season with Too Many Cooks, a fresh new play (debuting in America only last year) that transplants British-style farce to a Canadian setting as it tells the story of a restaurateur who opens a gourmet eatery in Niagara Falls in 1932, only to be forced to hire an impersonator after a famous French chef fails to show up. The show runs Oct 17-Nov 16 at 230 W 4th St, FW. Tickets are $10-30. Call 817-877-3040.

The celebrated Miró String Quartet comes to Fort Worth as part of the new season of Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth. The organization is now under the new leadership of artistic director Gary Levinson, so we’ll see what direction this valuable series takes. The quartet will perform Schubert’s unfinished Quartettsatz and Beethoven’s second “Rasumovsky” Quartet, a piece whose nervous beginnings give way to unfettered joy by the end. The concert is at 2pm at Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St, FW. Tickets are $5-28. Call 817-877-3003.

SUN ▪ 20

Far be it from us to turn you away from a production of Spamalot. Stolen Shakespeare Guild is putting on the stage musical inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and it’ll be interesting to see how well the work holds up outside the spacious confines of Bass Hall (the only other local venue where it’s been staged so far). The show runs thru Oct 27 at Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St, FW. Tickets are $15-19. Call 866-811-4111.

MON ▪ 21

Once again, Artisan Center Theater steps into the breach to give you something to do on a Monday evening. Tonight, it’s their new production of The Philadelphia Story, a 1930s-vintage farce by Donald Ogden Stewart about an heiress whose ritzy wedding is crashed by reporters and an old boyfriend. The show runs Oct 18-Nov 9 at Belaire Theater, 420 E Pipeline Rd, Hurst. Tickets are $14-18. Call 817-284-1200.

TUE ▪ 22

We love events like Taste of Arlington. Not only do you get to socialize and sample the best dishes from a slew of area restaurants for the price of just one meal at one of those places, but the proceeds generally go toward good causes. In this case, it’s Theatre Arlington and YMCA of Arlington that will benefit. The event is at 5pm at Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way, Arlington. Tickets are $40-65. Call 817-275-7661.
