Much like gin and tonics, P.G. Wodehouse novels are something you can easily have too much of, but one at a time they’re positively delightful. Howard Hawks’ 1938 film Only Angels Have Wings is part tribute to the macho bravery of air freight pilots in the Andes mountains and part romantic comedy between the mismatched pair of Cary Grant (as the freight company manager) and Jean Arthur (as an American tourist stranded at their airstrip).
