There always seems to be something cool going on in the Near Southside and this weekend is no exception. Market Weekend is coming up Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, vendors at the open air Urban Market on South Main Street and Daggett Avenue will be peddling everything from organic produce and dog food to jewelry and vintage clothing. Everything sold will be locally-made.  Here is a full list of vendors.

On the Lord’s Day (Sunday for you heathens) the Pop-Up Market will spring up at the Evans-Rosedale Plaza. It’s just like a mini mall, but again with locally produced goods and food.

While there, you can also submit a picture or short essay in Steer Fort Worth’s Picture It contest that focuses on underutilized urban space. The winner will get undisclosed “prizes” and the mayor will pick the grand prize winner. Maybe she’ll let you ride on the handlebars of her bike. Who knows?

Go support local vendors!
