Wednesday 13 – How many of us pay attention to the frames of paintings when we go to art museums? Yet they’re part of the picture, and some artists take pains about choosing their frames or even build their own. In the lecture After the Revolution: Framing Pictures in the Age of Napoleon, Kimbell curator Nancy Edwards will discuss how French artists changed their approach to frames during the Revolution at 12:30pm at 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd, FW. Thursday 14 – It’s not often you have the chance to hear Greek classical music, but Symphony Arlington is giving you just that with a performance of Nikos Skalkottas’ Five Greek Dances. The group will also perform a rare Puccini orchestral piece in Chrysanthemums, and Sarah Turner sings for Villa-Lobos’ famous Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 at 7:30pm at Arlington Music Hall, 224 N Center St, Arlington. Friday 15 – Brighton Sharbino from TV’s The Walking Dead stars in Radioflash, a thriller about a teenage girl who has to reach safety at her grandparents’ place when a nuclear attack knocks out electrical power to the western United States. The film receives a one-time screening at 10pm at The Grand Berry Theater, 2712 Weisenberger St, FW. Tickets are $8.

Saturday 16 – Eight women have won the Pulitzer Prize for Music, and three of them will be here for The Women of the Pulitzer, a Cliburn concert devoted to their chamber works. Jennifer Higdon’s highly textural music is represented by her piano trio and Color Through, while Julia Wolfe’s explosive piano piece Compassion and Caroline Shaw’s meticulously crafted string quartet Punctum round out the program. The concert is at 2pm at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St, FW. Tickets are $20-50. Call 817-212-4280.

Sunday 17 – Ted Tally is best known for winning an Oscar for his script for The Silence of the Lambs. He wrote Terra Nova as a script for the BBC about Robert Scott’s doomed journey to the South Pole, and now Fort Worth Community Arts Center is putting on a production of it as a stage play, Thu thru Nov 24 at 1300 Gendy St, FW. Monday 18 – All Phoebe Waller-Bridge fans are urged to head to one of four movie theaters in Tarrant County to see Fleabag. We’re not talking about the acclaimed British TV series but rather the one-woman play on which it was based. Waller-Bridge’s own performance of the play screens at 7pm at various theaters. Tuesday 19 – The Tuesday Evenings at the Modern lecture series winds up for the year with a talk about big issues. Independent curator Jarrett Earnest’s lecture Uninhabitable Art World: The Future’s Art and Criticism takes up what’s ahead for both artists and art critics and the meaning of art itself, starting at 7pm at 3200 Darnell St, FW.  Admission is free.
