Blue is in at the Fort Worth Show of Antiques & Art.

Wednesday 27 – It has been 40 years since the founding of Stage West, and our illustrious theater troupe will mark the occasion with an anniversary gala. Magician Trigg Watson will perform tricks both onstage and close-up, and there will be food and a silent auction. The biggest draw for us will be the live performances of songs from musical shows spanning the troupe’s four decades, starting at 6pm at 821 W Vickery Blvd, FW. Tickets are $165. Call 817-784-9378.

Thursday 28 – The Amon Carter Museum’s new lecture series, Experts Talk on the Carter, aims to expand the academic parameters of talks at museums. The series begins with artists and former curators Lauren Cross and Vicki Meek discussing how American art history has represented or excluded women and people of color. Seating is limited and registration is required. The talk is at 6:30pm at 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd, FW. Admission is free. Call 817-738-1933.

Friday 01 – The theme of this year’s Fort Worth Show of Antiques & Art is blue. You’ll find things in all colors, but there will be a special emphasis on blue art, jewelry, glassworks, denim, porcelain, and even blues records (ha ha). We’re looking forward to other color-themed versions of the local antique show. Teal, anyone? The show runs Fri thru today at Will Rogers Memorial Center, 3401 W Lancaster Av, FW. Admission is $8. Call 817-271-2098.

Saturday 02 – This pop-up art show at Shipping & Receiving Bar is entitled F*ck Your Art Degree. Need we say more? Oh, all right — it’s an exhibit of works by outsider artists that includes live music by Rosegarden Funeral Party, HXXS, and The Fibs, from 6pm to midnight at 201 S Calhoun St, FW. Admission is $10. Call 817-887-9313.

Sunday 03 – If you missed last week’s tryouts for FC Denton, the Fort Worth Vaqueros are holding open tryouts this week, for all of you dreaming about wearing the blue and white in front of the fans at Farrington Field this summer. This season, the team will have a new local rival to square off with. As always, the registration fee will net you a game ticket and jersey even if you’re cut. The tryouts start at noon at Sycamore Park, 2401 E Rosedale St, FW. Registration is $50. Call 817-200-7355.

Monday 04 – The Horned Frogs are running out of time to save their season and running out of healthy players to do it. A win tonight at home against division-leading Kansas State is imperative, but the Wildcats will be looking to improve their seeding in the upcoming NCAA tournament. It’s backs-against-the-wall time for TCU. Tip-off is at 8pm at Schollmaier Arena, 3000 Stadium Dr, FW. Tickets are $30-45. Call 817-257-7967.

Tuesday 05 – Maybe you’ve seen Grease a zillion times on stage, film, or TV, but Casa Mañana Theatre’s production is your best non-Mardi Gras bet for entertainment on this Tuesday night. Besides, should something happen to a principal actor, an understudy will be ready to step in, because this is not the Fox network. The show runs Sat thru Mar 10 at 3101 W Lancaster Av, FW. Tickets are $49-99. Call 817-332-2272.
