UNT was supposed to host a concert by Christine Goerke this evening, but the American soprano with the noble, silvery voice is unavailable this evening, so instead soprano Latonia Moore will perform a program of opera arias and art songs. The concert will take place at 8pm at Winspear Hall, 801 N Texas Blvd, Denton. Tickets are free-$20. Call 940-369-7802.

Bass Hall generally isn’t a venue for celebrity chefs, but it’ll be one tonight when Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert show up. The two chefs, who have often appeared together on Bourdain’s show No Reservations, will discuss their books, media appearances, and love of food. The event is at 8pm at 555 Commerce St, FW. Tickets are $44-77. Call 817-212-4280.

We’re hoping the weather cooperates, but rain or shine, the Fort Worth Greek Festival goes on this weekend at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. You can grab the souvlaki and gyros; we’re rather partial to pastitsio and baklava ourselves. The festival runs Fri-Sun at 2020 NW 21st St, FW. Admission is free. Call 817-626-5578.

SUN ▪ 11

Even if the musical numbers in the 1933 movie 42nd Street were uniquely made for the big screen, the story about dancers trying to make it on Broadway was a natural fit for the stage. Casa Mañana revives the venerable stage version, with such songs as “Lullaby of Broadway,” “I Only Have Eyes for You,” and the title song lighting up the proceedings. The show runs Nov 10-18 at 3101 W Lancaster Av, FW. Tickets are $37-72. Call 817-332-2272.

MON ▪ 12

This week features the grand opening of Fort Worth’s JFK Tribute Exhibit, built on the site of the president’s last public address, the day before his assassination in 1963. The exhibit in General Worth Square features a sculpture of John F. Kennedy, audio of that last speech, and historical memorabilia. The exhibit opens 9am Sat at 916 Main St, FW. Admission is free. Call 817-870-1692.

TUE ▪ 13

We’ll have a chance to hear the Brentano String Quartet next year when they play during the Van Cliburn Piano Competition’s chamber music round, but they’re here this evening to give us an advance look at their considerable skills. Their program of Purcell, Haydn, Brahms, and Bartók should let us hear their range. The concert is at 7:30pm at Bass Performance Hall, 555 Commerce St, FW. Tickets are $10-60. Call 817-738-6356.
