Interns learn a lot from the veteran journalists here at Fort Worth Weekly.
Take for instance this actual exchange from yesterday:
Intern: “Is there a better job than being a journalist? I don’t think so. Today I held a human heart in my hands and squeezed clogged arteries.”
Veteran Journalist: “The bad part about being a journalist — you’ll eventually be clutching at your own heart and its clogged arteries caused from sitting at a desk, snacking, smoking, boozing, drugging, and living the slothful life of a pessimistic observer. You’ll also be a professional crank after having spent a lifetime pointing out society’s many problems and dwelling on them. Finally, you’ll slowly go mad and swallow a bottle of Clorox bleach while sitting home alone on Christmas morning.”
LOL ~ S.P! 😉
