The curly-coiffed, punk-country, eccentric, and always lovable singer-songwriter Jordan Mycosckie has officially pulled up stakes and bade farewell to Fort Worth.
A job offer — combined with his wife wanting to live closer to her family — prompted the move. But Mycosckie was also intrigued by the prospect of living closer to Music City.
“It’s going to be fun to play up there,” he said. “I’m going to try to meet some people who know some people who can sell my songs and maybe make me a little money, but that’s kind of tough too.”
He said he’ll miss Fort Worth and his regular Monday night gig at the White Elephant Saloon. He spent many years here playing his intense version of county music and was featured in this 2008 cover story about living atop a Stockyards saloon with a bunch of other crazies.
His most recent Fort Worth Weekly appearance was earlier this year in Hearsay after Mycosckie’s beloved Seagull guitar was stolen out of his car, along with other music equipment.
“Getting that guitar stolen was kind of like a sign it was time to leave,” he said. “I wish I could find it. It’s an ass whupping.”
