The benefit for Brandi Todd at Billy Bob’s Texas on Sunday raised about $170,000, organizers said.
“When so much happens in this world, things you really shake your head at, it is nice to know that there are good people out there,” Katherine Kolstad of Billy Bob’s said.
Todd is the Morgan Mill woman who was stabbed and paralyzed while watching her children play in a Stephenville park a couple of months ago.
Rodeo cowboy Tuff Hedeman and his wife, Tracy, headed up the star-studded event that drew about 600 people. The night ended with a jam session featuring Charlie Robinson, Casey Donahew and Stoney LaRue.
“It’s just not hard to do the right thing,” Tuff Hedeman said.
Todd and her children must deal the effects of the attack for the rest of their lives, but the kindness shown last night and the money raised “will certainly help with the burden,” Kolstad said.
Anyone wishing to donate can contact the Town and Country Bank of Stephenville at (254) 968-4125, 150 N. Harbin Dr., P.O. Box 1157, Stephenville, Texas 76401.
I thank God that there are people in this world that still care for their fellow individuals.
My daughter has set in the same park with her twins and 5 y/o son many, many times without incident. To think that one sick individual could cause such pain to a young single mother is hard to fathom, but yet the kindness shown to Brandi and her positive attitude have made something good out of bad.
I will continute to pray for her. God Bless Brandi, her children and all of the kind souls who contnue to support and help her through this tragedt,
