Ranch women are honored in Hard Twist at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.

WED ▪ 23

The phrase “hard twist” refers both to a short knot that’s extremely difficult to break and to a short, compact person with the same durable qualities. You’ll find that in spades in Hard Twist: Western Ranch Women, a photography show by Barbara Van Cleve documenting the lives of women in such places in black and white. The show runs thru Oct 28 at National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, 1720 Gendy St, FW. Admission is $8-10. Call 817-336-4475.

The tournament runs Wed-Sun at Colonial Country Club, 3735 Country Club Dr, FW. Tickets are $15-800. Call 817-927-4200.

The event runs noon-7pm at 3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy, Grapevine. Admission is free.

The Rave Ridgmar has spent Sundays this May running a Latino film festival with a weirdly mixed program of ’80s hits, ’00s Mexican New Wave classics, and Fast Five. Anyway, this afternoon’s selection is Stand and Deliver, telling the true story of an L.A. math teacher who fought his school’s dropout rate by teaching calculus to barrio kids. The movie is at 3pm at 2300 Green Oaks Rd, FW. Tickets are $5. Call 817-566-0025.
