The Dallas Observer Music Awards nominees are in. And so are the snarky comments. (Big Daddy Paul’s is pretty funny.) Anyway, several 817 acts made their ways into the ballot: Telegraph Canyon (best group, best alt-country/roots, album of the year, song of the year), Mount Righteous (best group, best experimental/avant-garde), Quaker City Nighthawks (best blues), The Phuss and The House Harkonnen (best hard rock), and Whiskey Folk Ramblers (best alt-country/roots). And Fort Worth-based Spune Productions also got some love.
