If you haven’t already, check out this week’s cover story on veteran Fort Worth jazz pianist and composer Joe Rogers, who also wrote music and lyrics for many of Jubilee Theatre’s blockbuster original musicals over the last two decades. Luckily, Rogers has two live performances skedded during the next six weeks at Arts Fifth Avenue: He’ll be performing at the annual “A Jazzy Valentine” show 8pm Sat Feb 11 ($15) and delivering fresh compositions with The Joe Rogers Quartet 8pm Sat Mar 3 (also $15). Joe’s original jazz tunes are bold, lush, smart, and, despite his studying theory and composition at UNT in Denton, not at all cold and math-y.
