HUURICANE KATRINA APPROACHES THE GULF COAST IN 2005.

Texas ranked No. 3 in this study on states most at risk of disaster. The Gulf of Mexico is one mean mamma-jamma –the hurricanes and tropical storms hitting us from the south are much to blame.

Louisiana, our direct neighbor to the east, is the most disaster prone. (Isn’t it fitting that Britney Spears hails from Louisiana?)

Florida was second most disaster prone.

The other two states that border the Gulf of Mexico — Mississippi and Alabama — don’t have much coastline but they ranked No. 5 and No. 7 respectively.
