Texas Jail Project empowers incarcerated people in county jails by lifting their voices through stories, testimonies, and community building. We spoke with Texas Jail Project co-founder and executive director Krishnaveni Gundu and program associate Gabriela Barahona about Tarrant County Jail and the high number of deaths that local jail population experienced in 2020. The nonprofit recently launched Shedding Light, a compilation of first-hand testimonies of pre-trial detainees in Texas.
