Though Mean Motor Scooter was the headliner, it was opener Ting Tang Tina who brought the crowd, mostly underagers because the quartet is peopled by rockers too young to imbibe legally. The band still brought the heat, playing its brand of rollicking garage.
Mean Motor Scooter also definitely rocked it. Along with an energetic stage show, the Fort Worth garage-rockers have to be one of the loudest bands in town, which is always a good thing. Blasting out heavy riffs and pulsating bass and drums, MMS was a great way to revel in the fact that shows are back.
Second opener Cool Jacket deserves more attention for an underground indie outfit. After playing shows on and off for about five years, frontman Kevin England and company tore it up.
