Solo has just put out reusable aluminum cups, but we’ll be saving those for beer pong and stick with the usual paper cups for the wine at Fall Gallery Night. Once again, the event heralding the changing of the seasons has a great deal to offer for your eyes.
Maybe the biggest change this year will be visible at Artspace 111, which comes back from its summer hiatus with a new gallery manager and a new Great Room that can hold up to 200 people, plus a show of ceramics by Nancy Lamb. Meanwhile, Rose Marine Theater does something unusual for them with a show of woven fabrics by various artists. FWCAC has a number of shows, including the annual Preservation is the Art of the City and a show of sculptural animals by Ariel Bowman.
Grackle Art Gallery breaks out one of its one-night shows that includes Amye Wake’s painting seen above. The new school year means that the Gallery at UTA has sculpture and photography by Alicia Eggert and mixed-media works by Robert Hodge, while TCU opens a show of Kalee Appleton’s photographs at their main campus and sculpture and installations by Buster Graybill at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts.
Gallery Night is 2-10pm Sat at various locations. Check Calendar for venues. Admission is free. Call 817-735-0301.
