The entire region, to say nothing of this issue, is taken up with North Texas Beer Week this week, and venues in Mansfield and Southlake are taking part, as well as Fort Worth, Arlington, and Denton. A truly bewildering variety of events related to beer will be on display for you.

Rodeo Goat is hosting a giant burger extravaganza to go with all the suds, while the Bearded Monk is holding a “breakfast for dinner” evening, and the Collective Brewing Co. will pair its beer with various cheeses, because why should wine have a monopoly on cheese? The Ginger Man will hold a demonstration on how Guinness etches its distinctive trademark on its beer glasses, and myriad breweries will be either launching new beers or holding beer-related competitions.

If there’s one part of Beer Week that you don’t want to miss, it’s the second annual Fort Worth Weekly Homebrew Throwdown. For $15-20, you can sample the wares of a dozen or more breweries, ask questions from a panel of experts, taste the inventions of home brewers, listen to live music, watch the Cowboys’ game on TV, and party on Panther Island Pavilion. We dare say our own festivities will be the highlight of the entire week.
