Gather ’round, kinfolk. Here is the lineup for our 15th Annual Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards Festival. For the first time, the event will be two days in two different parts of town.

On Saturday, June 25, the Near Southside will be the place to be. At The Boiled Owl Tavern, we’ve got Animal Spirit (5pm), Mean Motor Scooter (4pm), Caliche Burnout (3pm), and VVoes (2pm). At The Chat Room Pub, it’s Tame … Tame & Quiet, Squanto, Starbass Laboratories, and Bulls. And at The Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge: KatsuK, Lyric Le’Velle, Phantom Sensation, and Vodeo.

The Near Southside party will continue at Shipping & Receiving Bar, with Ronnie Heart (9pm), Missing Sibling (8pm), and The Hendersons (7pm).

At each venue on both days, friendly Weekly staffers and their abductees will be on hand to settle minor political disputes and also peddle copies of Frequencies, Vol. 7: Live in Studio. Recorded in two days at Eagle Audio Recording in May, the 2016 version of our annual compilation album features new or previously unreleased tracks by Reagan James, Oil Boom, Son of Stan, Squanto, The Hendersons, Sally Majestic, Lyric Le’Velle, and several other handpicked nominees in our 20th Annual Music Awards. Proceeds from the $5 sale of the album go toward our charity sponsor, the United Way of Tarrant County. To purchase the album online, visit our Bandcamp page. To buy the music in person before the festival, come party with us 5:30-7:30pm Thursday at The Mule. That’s where we’ll host a listening party with all sorts of goodies and giveaways.
