A mysterious new art installation entitled “A Brouhaha Before the Fall” is thrilling visitors at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Look closely at the piece to your left.
What do you see?
A space satellite photo of a forbidden planet?
A magnified atom?
A painting?
A sculpture?
A mountain range?
A troglodyte?
A really ugly embroidered pillow?
A buffalo chip?
If you guessed the inside of a rotted tree branch that fell across the sidewalk at The Modern during last night’s high wind, then you, my friend, are an art genius.
I guessed right, sort of: I thought it was a section of rotten tree branch actually on display in the museum because it is a thing or rare and natural beauty. You slice that down to where the wood remains solid and you can make yourself a lovely wall hanging, a table top, or other beautiful things. Gotta love nature.
