This week’s spotlighted event is called Exhibitionists, but you will be either relieved or disappointed to find out that there won’t be large numbers of naked people running around. No, this is a pop-up event being put on by Exhibitionists Fort Worth, an art collective made up of employees at the city’s illustrious art museums. It’s going on this Saturday into the wee hours of Sunday morning at Shipping & Receiving Bar.
Some 60 artists will be gathered here to show their work, so you can see the mordantly funny street photography by Jeremy Pesina and the paintings by Jesse Hernandez. There’s also a great bill lined up, headlined by the experimental goth-metal sounds of Pinkish Black, the doom-laden alt-bluegrass outfit Dove Hunter, and math-rocking Cleanup. An event can’t go on this long without offering food, so Salsa Limon will be on hand to provide some tasty Mexican entrees. Proceeds from the evening will benefit The Art Station of Fort Worth, an organization that administers art therapy to people who can’t afford it.
