FORT WORTH CITY COUNCIL GAVE JIM AND GLORIA AUSTIN THE GREEN LIGHT TO TURN A CHURCH INTO AN EVENT CENTER IN HANDLEY.

City Approves Rezoning Of Handley Church

The Fort Worth City Council voted unanimously to approve a zoning change that would allow local realtor Jim Austin to transform a church into an event center that sells alcohol. Neighbors, some waving copies of Fort Worth Weekly, urged the council to deny the request, citing safety concerns. Afterward, a neighbor sounded off: Jim Austin’s supporters “made blatantly incorrect statements, even citing businesses as supporters which had actually signed our petition [against the zoning change]. Though we tried to counter this information, it was difficult due to time constraints. In addition, they did not hold the developer accountable for the fact that he repeatedly made statements about removing the alcohol from the original permit request. We also request an amendment with parking restrictions. The council did not respond. Apparently, the community voice is not a factor for decisions.”

People Protest Planned Parenthood

Kintaro 300x250

CW33 News described Planned Parenthood as “one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers.” Fort Worth Star-Telegram called it a “reproductive health services and abortion provider.” Protesters (anti-abortionists who hate Planned Parenthood as much as Bill Cosby hates depositions) call it Murder Inc. and want the feds to investigate and defund Planned Parenthood for allegedly selling babies’ body parts for profit.

Tom Brady Suspended For Dallas Cowboys Game

Looks like that lowdown, cheating, ball deflating Tom Brady of the New England Patriots won’t be available for the Dallas Cowboys to kick around on Week 5 of the NFL season. The NFL upheld its four-game suspension of Brady. The Pats have a bye in Week 4, meaning Brady will have to sit out Week 5. The Pats couldn’t win a patty-cake contest without Brady, so the Cowboys get an easy win this year. Brady would be upset, but he’s married to a supermodel and has $100 million in his wallet right now.

Social Media Drills Dentist For Extracting Lion

The Minnesota dentist who killed Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe is now sorry. Not about the lion, of course. He wouldn’t have killed the lion if he was concerned about it. He’s sorry to be raked over the coals, castigated, cursed, hated, and hunted by thousands of outraged people in the social media universe. Because, you know, it’s easy to be outraged these days. And making your outraged voice heard by all of humankind is as easy as clicking a button.

Fort Worth Considers Multi-Million Dollar Tax Giveaway For Arena Hotel

Hey, all you hotel owners who have paid your own freight over the years; don’t you look like suckers now? The Fort Worth City Council is set to vote on whether to give millions to a hotel developer near the planned arena at Will Rogers Memorial Center. Some residents might think a suuper-wealthy development company with the financial clout to build a $52 million hotel could afford to do it without begging for millions in tax rebates. Those residents would be stupid. Multi-millionaires aren’t made of money. Besides, remember President Reagan’s trickle-down theory? If we help wealthy people get richer through tax breaks, it all trickles back downhill. Like pee.
