Maybe the the death knell for print news products is premature.
Longtime business writer Scott Nishimura has been named executive editor of FW Inc., a new magazine to be launched by the same publishing company that puts out Fort Worth, Texas magazine.
FW Inc. will be published quarterly beginning this summer.
“We’re going to have in-depth analysis, features on leading business people and entrepreneurs in Fort Worth, and a lot of fun lifestyle coverage aimed at business people,” Nishimura said. “It’s going to be a great product and it’s going to add a lot of content that’s not available in the market right now.”
The magazine will also contain an associated digital product.
More details will be released later, although a media kit says the magazine is expected to be about 80 pages.
I wouldn’t call Fort Worth, Texas a pillar of good, unbiased, investigative journalism. It doesn’t try to be. But it’s a popular magazine among certain demographics (mostly rich folks who like reading about themselves.) Who knows what FW Inc. will be like, but Nishimura has proven himself to be a knowledgeable reporter with solid credentials and ethics in the past.
Nishimura worked as a business writer for almost 30 years at Fort Worth Star-Telegram before switching to the Fort Worth Business Press last year.
Nishimura described Fort Worth, Texas on his Facebook page as a “great and growing brand” and said he’s “blessed to be able to continue to serve the community through this [journalism] industry.”
How do we subscribe to FW INC, and how much does it cost.
