Green River Ordinance headlines the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival.

This weekend, Fort Worth and Grapevine have their own events competing for your leisure time, but if you’re diligent, you can fit them both into your schedule.

The Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary with a blast. Everyone from Fort Worth alt-Americana stylists Green River Ordinance to Latin jazz scion Tito Puente Jr. to avant-garde performance troupe Squonk Opera will perform, while the Cliburn Foundation will leave a piano out (so to speak — it’ll be under a roof) for anyone to play. Local restaurants like Bobby’s Fajitas and Thai Tina’s will supply the food, and craft beer and wine from Times Ten Cellars will be flowing freely.

If the latter isn’t enough for you, though, you might want to consider a trip up to Grapevine for the New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail. After the traditional Blessing of the Vines, nine of the city’s wineries will offer tastings and display works of art. Even if you’re not drinking, you can still take part by registering as a designated driver for the event. Making the streets safer will get you free food and nonalcoholic beverages and a chance to win a $500 gift basket. Either of these events will be a great way to welcome in spring.
