As always, there are tons of New Year’s Eve events going on this Wednesday evening. The traditional ones include special performances of the shows at Stage West and Artisan Center Theater (see Monday blurb for more information on the latter) that include dinner, drinks, and live music. Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is also doing its usual jazzy show to count down to the new year, with Tony Babino and Lisanne Lyons singing under the baton of Michael Berkowitz.
However, there are more unusual events on tap as well. Sundance Square’s celebration is being headlined by Luke Wade, the Fort Worth-based singer who competed on NBC’s The Voice earlier this year. Flying Saucer, for its part, is offering a post-midnight bash boasting live music by party band Safira and a surf-and-turf dinner. Undoubtedly the hippest partying will be going on in two different music venues, as Lola’s Saloon and The Grotto co-host an event called New Year’s Eve in West 7th, with music by the likes of Purple and Animal Spirit and a shuttle running back and forth between the venues all night. See Last Call for more details about this shindig, and ring in 2015 safely.
