Oh the irony.
LGBT students, alumni, and supporters expressed disappointment when Texas Christian University allowed a Chick-fil-A restaurant on campus last year.
The fast-food chicken chain was getting slammed on social media after CEO Dan Cathy publicly opposed same sex marriage and reportedly gave millions of dollars to groups opposing LGBT rights.
Now that TCU got screwed out of a Final Four slot in the college football playoffs, it looks like they’re relegated to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Their opponent is Ole Miss, a conservative Deep South school that probably has more Chick-fil-A restaurants on campus than openly gay students.
Since Texas, and especially Tarrant County, is a national hotbed of bigotry, this seems fitting.

I live in Fort Worth and I’m a liberal that has a TCU alumni for a son…it goes both ways…the tolerance.

I was born and raised in Fort Worth. My family has lived here since the 1800s. I still live in the same non-elitist house my mother was born in 85 years ago. I take care of her.
When I say Tarrant County is a hotbed of right-wing homophobia and bigotry, I know what I am talking about. I believe it’s called the “Fort Worth Way” by its beneficiaries.

My Daddy was a Deacon in the Southern Baptist Church when he stood in the crowd that was enjoying the lynching of a Black kid of 17 years on the courthouse lawn of Upshur County, Texas in 1933. The Sheriff stood on the porch of the Courthouse and casually observed the homicide. The basis of the Southern Baptist Church was to absolutely exclude Black people, the Convention maintained Negros were the same as chickens or possums….they lacked a soul , bad luck. My Grandma explained to me as a kid that it was a sin to mistreat a milk cow, chicken, mule, or Negro…just don’t let them in the house.. You can read up on all this with some research on the internet & such. You’ll have a little trouble reading this in schoolbooks ( Texas buys the most textbooks and calls the shots on history books nationwide traditionally),

Well, I guess that if Baylor didn’t beat TCU earlier, things might have been different. I would bet that there are a diverse number of fast food restaurants on every large college campus. I think that associating a chicken sandwich business with lynchings etc is pretty “fowl” and inappropriate.
Are you not concerned that the family running and owning Church’s are stone BIGOTS, have been since their first store until this instant? Bible beating, 100% wild-eyed Peckerwoods?
