The state’s got money burning a hole in its pocket, and officials are soliciting advice on how to dole it out.

The Texas Water Development Board is hosting an evening work session tonight in Fort Worth to discuss the state’s water plan and the rules that determine  how the money is spent.

Ultimately, the rules that the board establishes will “define standards for rural projects and conservation and reuse projects” while also prioritizing water projects needing money.

You’re invited to attend and comment. Or you can stay home and watch “Wheel of Fortune.” Water’s not that important.

The work session is at 7 p.m. tonight at the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute, Jack Newell Family Auditorium, 7300 Jack Newell Blvd. South, Fort Worth.
