Fort Worth Vaqueros appear at Sundance Square, Sat.

It’s time for football season! Don’t worry; we’re not touting the Cowboys’ preseason game here. No, we mean English soccer, which starts up this weekend. NBC already broadcasts a late game at 11am on most Saturdays, but if that’s not enough to satisfy your post-World Cup soccer fix, you can catch an additional game two hours earlier when AMC Palace broadcasts Barclays Premier League Live. This new program will carry prime matchups in the English league throughout the season, and it starts this Saturday, giving you a chance to see superstars like Robin van Persie, Mesut Özil, Steven Gerrard, Vincent Kompany, and U.S.A.’s very own Tim Howard.

However, you may want to skip out on the first game to go down the street and catch Soccer in the Square! Members of the Fort Worth Vaqueros will be using the space of Sundance Square to hold scrimmages, demonstrate skills, and sign autographs. The local footballers, who were a huge attraction last year on the North Side, want to keep the momentum going. The event is free, and when it’s over, you’ll still have time to pop into the movie theater to catch the second half.
