Well, slap with an iron claw and call me stupid.
Who knew there were Von Erichs still alive and kicking in the wrestling ring?
Turns out, Fritz Von Erich’s last remaining son, Kevin, has two wrestling boys of his own, Marshall, 21, and Ross, 26.
They’ll be wrestling as part of Slammiversary on June 15 at UT-Arlington’s College Park Center.
Fritz and his passel of muscle-bound sons were like North Texas’ version of the Kennedy family – simultaneously blessed and cursed.
Fritz had six sons. All but one died young. Three committed suicide. For a time they ruled the wrestling world until drugs, sickness, injuries, and various tragedies overtook them.
After a long absence it’s good to see the Von Erich name back out there. Kerry Von Erich’s daughter Lacey is also a professional wrestler.
Maybe this new generation can escape the curse.
