Ah, that sweet, sensual, aromatic time in February is here.
And I ain’t talking Valentine’s Day roses.
It’s DFW NORML‘s weekend to spread awareness in Tarrant County about the group’s mission to end cannabis prohibition in the state of Texas.
If you want to learn the ins and outs of pot activism, check out the free “Lobbyist Training Class” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Unity Church of Fort Worth. The legislative strategy session is designed to teach marijuana legalization activists the basics of the Texas legislative process, and how to lobby elected officials for change. Amen.
If fighting those dogs in Austin isn’t your thing, you might prefer the “Sacred Paws Fundraiser” on Sunday afternoon at Lola’s Saloon. DFW NORML is setting up an information table at the dog rescue event that’s designed to find homes for 21 displaced dogs. This event is $5 at the door. If you hesitate to pay that amount, just look inside and lock gazes with big pair of brown eyes on a floppy-eared mutt, and you’ll have no trouble forking it over.
Thank you FW Weekly and Jeff Prince for covering our events this weekend! Herb’s the word!
God Bless Texas.
