There are lots of reasons to like Chevys, like dependability, speed, and style, but if you need one more, consider the North Texas Chevy Music Showcase, a series of mini-documentaries on local bands that airs year-round during Jimmy Kimmel Live! (10:35 p.m. Mondays through Fridays on WFAA-TV/Channel 8) and is funded by North Texas Chevy Dealers.
From Oklahoma City origins, the series expanded last year into North Texas and featured Quaker City Night Hawks, Holy Moly, and The Hanna Barbarians, among others, and local venues The Aardvark and Lola’s Saloon.
For Chevy’s 2013-14 campaign, Fort Worthians Animal Spirit, Chris Watson Band, Green River Ordinance, and Joey Green Band will be featured along with Fort Worth-y Dallas acts Oil Boom and Whiskey Folk and pure-Dallas bands Dead Flowers, Goodnight Ned, Greg Schroeder, Jolie Holliday, Larry g(EE), and Somebody’s Darling. The artists will be shown performing and chatting in Dallas’ Club Dada, Double Wide, and Granada Theater and Fort Worth’s Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge, Queen City Music Hall, and The Grotto.
The first episode will air between 10:35 and 11:35 p.m. (times are subject to change) on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Every episode will be on-demand at ChevyMusicShowcase.com, facebook.com/ChevyMusicNTX, and youtube.com/ChevyMusicNTX.
Thank your local North Texas Chevy Dealers person for helping pull off what no other broadcast media outlet has ever thought to do: bring some quality local musical talent into our living rooms.
