The public is invited to pay tribute to Jerry Russell at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St.
“It is with great sadness that I share that Jerry Russell, my dearly loved father, died early yesterday morning surrounded in love and prayer by our extended family and so many who share our love for Dad,” Texas Sen. Wendy Davis said in a statement this morning
Russell created Stage West three decades ago and figures prominently in the city’s theatrical history.
The Jerry Russell Endowment Fund at Stage West will “ensure that the quality programs Jerry set out to produce when founding Stage West over 33 years ago will continue long after his death,” the statement said.
Donations (in lieu of flowers) can be sent online here for the Jerry Russell Endowment Fund at Stage West, or mailed by check to Stage West, c/o Jerry Russell Endowment Fund, 821 West Vickery Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76104.
Russell was 77.
Such a loss to the community. Such an extraordinary presence. We are grateful for the time Jerry was able to give us and the lasting legacies he left behind. He will be remembered long after most of us are forgotten.
