A multimedia reporter who spent years in TV tipped Blotch to a major scoop — Skylar Elise, whom the news person hailed as “the next Taylor Swift,” is having her debut CD release party in Fort Worth tomorrow night.
It’s probably time for the next Taylor Swift, so right on, Skylar.
The CD release party is at 7 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 8) at Four Day Weekend comedy theater, 312 Houston Street. The event is free.
Southern rock artist Bo Bice, who finished in second place behind Carrie Underwood on American Idol in 2005, will be performing as well. Stop the presses: Elise’s Facebook page includes Underwood among her favorite artists, but not Bice. Ouch! Bice must be hurt. (Does Blotch like to stir up shit or what?)
If you want to know which reporter tipped us off, I can’t say. But, ahem, former FOX TV reporter Rebecca Aguilar just happens to be emceeing the event.
Elise is a local gal who can sing, write, and play multiple instruments. She was only 18 months old when she sang her first Shania Twain song. I didn’t witness it, but I have it on good authority (Elise’s press kit).
She’s a veteran on the local nursing home tour as a performer with God’s Country Kids, and you might have seen her youthful performances at the Johnnie High Country Music Revue, Grapevine Opry, and other area venues.
A YouTube video of her first single already has more than 50,000 hits. The special effects are amazing.
She is not as easy on the eyes as Taylor. Fw weekly, you all couldn’t find a descent picture of Skylar? Shes looking pretty rough there…
Settle down, Big Al, she’s only 15 and she looks perfectly fine.
