Fred’s, according to a press release sent earlier today, will expand into the space formerly occupied by The Love Shack and Oui Lounge on Bluebonnet Circle near TCU. Fred’s Texas TCU will be the third restaurant bearing the “Fred’s” name –– the original space, in the West 7th corridor, is still going strong, and the other is on Western-Center Boulevard in North Fort Worth.
Kyle Poulson, managing partner for the Bluebonnet-area property owners, is excited to see TCU get some Fred’s lovin’.
“Fred’s is an institution,” he said. “It will be an incredible addition to the area and Bluebonnet Circle.”
Fred’s co-owner Terry Chandler said he’ll try to restore the Oui to its former glory –– celebrity chef Tim Love (The Love Shack, Lonesome Dove, The Woodshed, Queenie’s) bought the place not too long ago and replaced its old-timey C&W charm with swank.
“We have total respect for the heritage behind The Oui Lounge,” Chandler said. “We fully plan to incorporate some of the historical elements from the Oui in the new Fred’s Texas TCU.”
