This week’s Static revealed a former Chesapeake Energy Corp. employee’s rather pungent recollections of Julie Wilson, the main mouthpiece for the gas drilling giant during its Barnett Shale heyday.
Wilson announced this week that she was leaving the company where she had overseen North Texas drilling since 2006.
Preceding her out the door was former CEO Aubrey McClendon, pushed out by shareholders who revolted against his reign of financial hokey pokey.
One of Wilson’s biggest activist adversaries throughout her tenure was FWCanDo found Don Young, who sent out an email to his compatriots about the departure of a woman he calls “propaganda minister.”
Here are a few highlights:
“With the possible exception of former mayor Mike Moneycrief no single person has done more than to FUBAR my hometown than Julie Wilson,” he wrote. “She is a master of deceit but doesn’t really give a sh*t if you believe her or not, UNLESS you wield political power. The way she handled City of Fort Worth officials and other power players in the mid 00’s made ass-kissing and brown-nosing the official sports of Cowtown.
“If Fort Worth ever had a moral compass it was pilfered by Julie Wilson and thrown down a frack hole.”
“The list of Julie’s toxic legacy over the past few years is lengthy. You’ll find plenty of old horror stories at FWCANDO.org or at TexasSharon.com.”
I am not related to that woman.
Julie Wilson never bothered to respond to me on issues of
1) always using electric drilling rigs
2) doing a better job of mitigating flying frack dust which can cause silicosis for which there is no cure and
3) flowing back into more expensive but appropriate urban style flowback tanks that are pressurized and therefore ventless…
nope nope nope, she only responded back on the issue of using dirty field gas to power the surface equipment engines which would be cleaner than diesel engines….but even that rare occasion of a response from her or from “any” Chesapeake official was a fail…here is what she said ….http://barnettshalehell.wordpress.com/2012/11/30/video-of-chesapeake-disrupting-endocrines-in-our-youth-near-cowboy-stadium/
Julie threw a major $hit fit when the president of our neighborhood association went over her head straight to Aubrey McClendon over some drilling issues. Her attempts to chastise him, a long-time Fort Worth attorney, were very entertaining. She probably went through a case of tampons that day.
