There won’t be enough hours in this weekend to attend all of the different outdoor events going on, so you can just pick and choose which ones you’d like to use to take advantage of the lovely spring weather.
Oenophiles are used to heading to Grapevine for their fill of vino, but this weekend they’ll be flocking to Granbury for the Swirl Sip and Stroll Wine Walk, which takes up three days this year instead of two. The event starts on Thursday, but you can also take that day to visit the Youth Art Expo, an annual event in the Race Street district that has the benefit this year of the new WoCA Art Projects for the display of artworks by local students.
Brave Combo will be playing both Prairie Fest and the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival this year. The Fort Worth event also has Whiskey Folk Ramblers and Pablo & The Hemphill 7, while the Denton fest brings in David Sanborn.
If you’re more about food, you’ll want to check out the Texas Food Truckin’ Fest at the Ballpark in Arlington, where you’ll be able to get appetizers, main courses, and desserts from such trucks as Oinknmoo BBQ, Empanada Armada, Gorgonzilla, and My Cupcake Garden.
The weekend closes with Open Streets. The event took a powder last year but comes back this year to open West Magnolia Avenue and its many businesses to bikers and pedestrians.
All of these civic parties will leave you filled up with great food and music.
Check Calendar for dates, locations, prices, and contact phone numbers for the events listed above.
