Saturday is shaping up to be a Westside kinda day.
From 11am to 6pm, the three-mile stretch of Camp Bowie Boulevard between University Drive and Ridglea Avenue will be bustling as part of Camp Bowie District’s inaugural Fresh Off the Boulevard. Showcasing “what’s fresh” from Camp Bowie restaurants and retailers, the event will include vintage lemonade stands offering both kid-friendly refreshments and adult beverages, photo booths, food and wine tastings, art, live music, trunk shows, giveaways, games, and more. Blue Sushi, Studio 7, Winslow’s Wine Café, Miss Molly’s Toy and Candy Shop, Michael’s Restaurant, Doman XCIV, and Tokyo Café are just some of the dozens of participating businesses. A complimentary shuttle service will be provided.
An after-party at Buffalo West (7101 Camp Bowie West, 817-732-2370) will feature live music, complimentary wine and light bites, and a raffle.
At the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s 9th Annual Mad Scientist Ball in the nearby Cultural District, “scientist chic” attire is encouraged. There are several levels of sponsorship, including individual dinner ticket for $600 or $1,000 per couple. An “electric field trip” will be part of the evening’s festivities.
