A local business that bills itself as “Fort Worth’s favorite neighborhood bistro” has some bold ideas about what constitutes a neighborhood.
Sapristi! Bistro and Wine Bar on Forest Park Boulevard has an email list that extends all the way to Frankfurt, Germany.
Sapristi! sent out a blanket email letting its customers know the restaurant will be closed for brunch this Sunday for a private party.
Fort Worth Weekly is on the email list. So is a guy named Rob in Frankfurt, Germany. He hit “reply to all” with this pithy comment:
Dear Sapristi!
Thanks for letting me know that you will be closed on Sunday 6th May. This has saved me making the 5160 mile trip from where I live in Frankfurt (in Germany [yes the one in Europe]) only to find you closed.
I have never signed up for your newsletter and I don’t wish to be spammed further.
Rob
Ze Robster goes on to surmise that Sapristi! mistyped his email address, and that the person with the correct email address is no doubt “happy to continue reading your missives.”
Who said Germans don’t have a sense of humor?
Germans have a fine-tuned sense of humor but it doesn’t always translate well to English.
please. someone take the keys to the blog away from jeff prince.
What makes you think Rob is German?
German humor is so fine-tuned, only dogs can hear it.
When I originally commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox
and now every time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same
comment. Perhaps there is a means you can remove me from
that service? Kudos!
