North Richland Hills singer Lisa Gail Allred is probably going to be an international star –– for 15 minutes –– in that William Hung sort of way.
Allred is a middle-aged singer-songwriter who –– how to put this gently –– has a hard time with pitch, tempo, and key. In other words, she’s not a great singer. Her voice is twangy and bratty and, as a result, painful.
Her single, “Three Second Rule,” is pretty damn catchy and is now being covered by bands all over the world, including The Hounds of Czar, who actually bring out the song’s gloriously catchy DNA. (I wish they didn’t act so silly in the song, though. It detracts from the musical brilliance.)
