Season 11 of American Idol is ginning along, introducing viewers to a new batch of singers, all but a few of them extremely average.
Meanwhile, one of the best former Idol contestants is back among us.
Fort Worth’s own Casey James, who took third place in Idol‘s ninth season, is on tour behind a new country-sounding album that’s titled, drum roll please…Casey James.
Okay, not too original of a title, but James co-writes nine of the 11 songs on the new album so he’s definitely been a busy boy.
The few songs I’ve heard sound good if predictable, although predictability isn’t necessarily a bad thing in the mainstream music scene.
Here’s James jamming at Billy Bob’s Texas last weekend:
I think the album does an excellent job of showcasing his talents. I really enjoy the track Drive. http://vevo.ly/AExGzc
Big fan of the new album! and, Casey has progressed since his days on Idol. Really feel what he’s been doing with the guitar and his deep lyrics. Instant sentiment to “Drive”! its featured on vevo: http://vevo.ly/AExGzc
