Mike lives!
On Friday I blogged about the death of Mike the Duck, who hung out in my cubicle for years before a series of accidents left him with a broken neck and big chunk of his breast missing. I unceremoniously dropped him in my trash can, took his photo, and blogged about it.
However, someone here at work who likes to rescue things took a liking to Mike and removed him from my trash can and put him on a ledge next to some other rescued items — a stuffed black bird wearing a crown, a baby’s doll (also wearing a crown), and a potato with green tacks for eyes (also, of course, wearing a crown). Rescued items get the royal treatment around here.
Mike is now happily perched above graphic designer Bonnie’s desk. She plans to make a crown for Mike soon.

Slow day at the office, Jeff?
Hey..I heard you guys liked unwanted animals…I’m a green pig, who really wants a green pig…I made myself a home next to Mike! Found a sweet ass crown too!
