This past weekend, more than 100 vehicles were towed for illegally parking in Montgomery Plaza (“Wreckers Haul Away Dozens from Montgomery Plaza ,” Blotch, Monday, Jan. 16).

7th Haven owner Jimmy Moore captured some of the action on his camera.

To create a “pedestrian zone” in the West 7th Street corridor on weekends, an online petition was started in the wake of yesterday’s news report.

  1. it is against the law in every state to park without permission on private property. if the vehicles are illegally parked they should be towed.

  2. Both my car and my husband’s were towed Friday night! We have always been a fan of this part of Fort Worth but now that $586.60 has gone to Mickey Massy (manager) and his crew we will not be spending our money in this area for a while. Along with our vehicles, 3 other vehicles from our party were towed! I think we should open a bar across from the Tarrant Co. Abandoned Vehicle Removal Inc. or just buy a tow truck of our very own! Let’s put it this way! They made more money in the 2.5 hours I was in line waiting to get my car back then I do in a month. One car after the other. Tow trucks whipped in and out of there like they were on fire! In fact while in line I overheard several stories that would make your jaw drop. I will just say I find it all very fishy and who is getting the kick back from all this? Who decided this was the right thing to do? This is the wrong way to go about taking care of any issue there might be? And if you are going to make such a great area out of Fort Worth maybe they should have planned for a better parking situation! Times are too hard for this kind of madness. This will just keep customers away!
